Sugar detox, day nine

We're nearing the halfway point of the sugar detox, and I can't stop thinking about how happy I am that I decided to do this. I don't even think about chocolate anymore, and I'm totally over the idea of eating fruit three times a day. I'm at that "I'm never touching sugar again!" stage for sure. To be honest, I feel relieved. I was totally overdoing it on the sugar, and I didn't even realize what it was doing to me until I started feeling normal again.

  1. You cut out all fruit as well? Is there a reason for this? Is it a paleo requirement to cut out fruit?

  2. Hi -- Cutting out all fruit is not a paleo requirement necessarily. I think it is one of those individual choices, based on your own goals and personal health situation. I personally think it is best for me to limit fruit. I was going way overboard for a while. For now, I have scaled back a lot. The detox program only allows one serving of fruit a day, and it can only be a not-too-ripe banana or a green apple. I won't be this strict forever. It is just temporary. As for the reason to limit fruit ... fruit is often considered completely healthy in every way because the sugar in it is natural. It does have lots of benefits, of course, but fructose (the natural sugar in fruit) can be quite problematic.
